        Fulltime Permanent Position: Carpenter/Metal-Framer Scaffold (NOC 7271)

        Employer: Matakana Scaffolding BC Inc., 5288 Still Creek Avenue, Burnaby BC V5C 4E4

        Location of work: GVRD/Lower Mainland

        Compensation: $52,000 per year and benefits (medical and dental after 6 months) and 10 days annual vacation

        Hours of work: 40 hours/week – usually Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

        Job Requirements:

        • completion of highschool
        • a minimum of 2 years of related work experience
        • English for safety standards

        Duties:

        • Interpret and calculate blueprints & designs;
        • Assemble steel and new product scaffold and related materials;
        • Erect intricate design bases and building envelopes;
        • Install temporary exterior flooring, wall and roofing materials;
        • Follow building codes to ensure accurate measurement of building materials

         

        Fulltime Permanent Position: Scaffold Supervisor (NOC 7204)

        Location of Work: Greater Vancouver Area/Lower Mainland

        Compensation: $35.00/hr and benefits (medical and dental after 3 months)

        Hours of work: 40 hrs/week – usually Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

        Job Qualifications/Requirements:

        • 4 years of scaffolding experience to at least charge hand level with a professional scaffolding company. Both tube and fitting and system scaffold experience required. Scaffold card/ ticket required.
        • English at a level to ensure safety standards are met.

        Duties/Responsibilities:

        • Assemble steel and scaffold material
        • Erect scaffolds to design and building envelopes
        • Supervise and schedule the activities of carpenters/metal erectors/scaffolders who construct and maintain scaffold structures as above
        • Requisition materials and supplies
        • Assist with training of workers
        • Recommend hirings and promotions
        • Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed
        • Prepare safety plans and reports
        • Supervise the activities of related apprentices, helpers and labourers
        • Communicate with company and client representatives to coordinate site activities.
